A FREE area community event to take place at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont on Saturday, March 24^th from 1pm-8pm. Arts and Culture Fest…a Celebration of Cultures from Around the World. On-going performance and demonstrations throughout the day. Cultural artwork and table demonstration from India, Germany, Philippines, Japan, Russia, China, Mexico, and more. Family friendly, food, games, crafts, and more. Please review the attached flyer for the schedule of events or visit redrockcenter.org. Free to the public with the exception of a German menu being served from 5:00-6:30 for $6.

Whitesidewalls

The Whitesidewalls are coming to Delavan! Join Hound Dog, Gino, The Wizard, Hit Man and Swanee for the Delavan Fire Department’s Annual Dance, Saturday, February 25th, from 8 pm – midnight at the Delavan High School Gym. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening by Johnny M’s. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Contact any Delavan Fireman for more details.

Come to the Fair

Trinity Lutheran will be hosting their Fair Stand Supper on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 5 – 7 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 235 E 7th St, Blue Earth.

The menu will include: hot beef commercial, hot beef sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, potato salad, coleslaw, pie, ice cream, brownie, coffee, and milk.

Please call 526-5863 from 3-6 pm for take-out and pick-up orders. Deliveries will take place from 5-7 pm.

The public is invited to a free holiday meal Sunday, January 1st, 2012 from 11 am – 1 pm at the Blue Earth Senior Center. This event is sponsored by Hope United Methodist Church. Soup, sandwiches, and bars will be served.

“You Can Make a Difference” Campout

Help make this years KBEW/Darling International “You Can Make a Difference” campout a huge success!!
This year’s campout will start Thursday, December 1 at 8:30 am and conclude on Saturday, December 3 at noon. It will be held in the parking lot of Juba’s Super Valu.
Anyone wishing to donate, may drop off toys, food, or cash at the campout location. All donations will go to support the Faribault County Area Food Shelf and the Western Faribault County Toy Drive. Monetary donations will be split between the food shelf and the toy drive.

Christmas Dinner Theater

Looking for a deliciously entertaining way for your club, business, or organization to celebrate the upcoming holidays? Consider buying a block of tickets fo the Blue Earth Town and Country Players’ 24th Annual Christmas Dinner Theater, set for 7 pm Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3, and 1 pm, Sunday, December 4, in Stage 28 at the BEA Middle School.

This year’s show is the two-act comedy, “A Christmas Story”, which has been adapted from the cult classic film. As always, each ticket includes a toasty wassail beverage, followed by a delicious roast pork dinner (serenaded by the BEAHS Madrigals) with dessert, and topped off with the show. It’s a bargain and a great night out – all for only $20. Tickets will be available to the public Monday, November 14, at the Chamber office.

BUC$ Night Out

The 14th Annual BUC$ Night Out will be held Saturday, November 19.

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a steak fry at the American Legion in Blue Earth from 5 – 7 pm with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Blue Earth Area School Foundation. After the steak fry make your way over to Hamilton Hall where the doors open at 6:30 pm. A wine and beer tasting sponsored by Blue Earth Wine & Spirits will take place until 8:30 pm. The cost of the tasting is $5 per person. A silent auction will also take place throughout the night and end at 9 pm. Starting at 9:15 pm, the live auction will begin. Entertainment throughout the night will be provided by Dan Warner of Stage One Sounds.

There is sure to be something for everyone, so make sure you come out and support your local schools with an evening of fun!!

Craft, Bake, & Book Sale

United Hospital District Auxiliary invites you to their Christmas Craft, Bake, and Book Sale Saturday, November 19 from 8 am – 2 pm at the United Hospital District Lobby, Blue Earth.

Shop the craft tables for Christmas gifts and hand-crafted decorations, get a head start on your holiday baking by checking out the bake sale items, and back by popular demand “Books are Fun” book sale. Morning coffee and rolls will be provided and a noon lunch will be available in the hospital cafeteria.

Santa is Coming to Town!!

Have you heard??

Santa is coming to town!!

He will arrive at 10 am on Saturday, November 12 at the Giant Park in Blue Earth. Bring your kids to meet Santa and watch at 10:30 am, as he is hoisted up in a big truck to tie a bright red scarf on the Jolly Green Giant for the winter.

Prior to Saturday’s events, Santa will be available Friday night from 4 – 7 pm and again Saturday after the scarfing from 11 am – 1 pm at Photos by GT for your children have pictures taken with him, just in time for Christmas cards for the holiday season.

And don’t forget to look for Santa’s wife. She will be around town handing out treats with coupons for a visit to the Green Giant Museum during Christmas vacation. We welcome one and all to stop in and don’t forget to bring your company!
