SHIP Worksite Wellness Collaborative

shipDear Worksite Partners,

SHIP is excited to invite you for our second worksite wellness collaborative! The collaborative is a no-cost meeting for employers in Faribault, Martin, & Watonwan Counties. By participating in the collaborative you will receive free training and presentations related to improving your worksite wellness program, including information on healthy eating at work, improving opportunities for employees to be physically active, ensure your worksite provides a supportive environment for breastfeeding moms, tobacco cessation and reducing stress.

What’s involved?

The fall’s meeting will include a physical activity demonstration by a certified personal trainer, a healthy eating presentation by a SNAP-Ed educator, a presentation from WIC representative on breastfeeding support, and an opportunity to network with other worksites.

What’s in it for my worksite?

Investing in the health of employees by developing a workplace wellness initiative is an important step any employer can take to increase productivity, improve morale and better manage health care costs. Plus, most of the best practice recommendations take little to no financial resources on the part of your organization- just staff time to plan and implement. In addition to the collaborative, FMW SHIP offers free support to worksites, including assistance with completing worksite wellness assessments and providing resources for implementing programs. Any size employer is welcome to come!

What to bring?

If your worksite has attended the collaborative before, please remember to bring your worksite wellness binders that you received at the last meeting so that we may add more wellness materials for you to take home. We will take time to share ideas during the collaborative, so please be prepared to share resources from your worksite wellness activities.

Mark your calendars!

The meeting will be held on October 4th, 2016 from 9am-1:30pm at the Martin County Resource Center Community Room (115 W 1st St, Fairmont, MN 56031). A free lunch will be provided. RSVP to: or by phone: 507-848-7613
