Mitchell Chautauqua seeking nominations

womens-groupThe Mitchell Chautauqua Circle of Blue Earth is seeking nominations for the Blue Earth Area Woman of Achievement for 2016. Letters of nomination will be accepted during the month of March.

This year’s recipient will be honored at a luncheon on Tuesday, May 3 at the Gathering Place of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. A Woman of Achievement has been chosen from the Blue Earth area each year since 1958. Last year the group honored Barb Pearson, and Shelley Greimann was the 2014 honoree.

To be eligible for the award the candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • she must be a resident of the area included in the BEA school district
  • she will be considered on the merits of one or more areas of achievement from business, professional and/or community service
  • her achievements should be closely related to the are and should have benefited the area or its residents

All letters of nomination for the 2016 Woman of Achievement must be signed by the nominator and will be considered for three years. Nomination forms, which contain specific guidelines for the letter, are available at the Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce during regular business hours.

Letters of nominations (or questions about the award) may be sent to Kay Temple, 215 East 4th Street, Blue Earth, MN 56013 by March 31. Selection of the 2016 Woman of Achievement will be made at the regular meeting of the Mitchell Chautauqua Circle on Tuesday, April 5.
