Blue Earth Valley Quilters Meeting

The Blue Earth Valley Quilters will hold the ninth meeting of the 2018-2019 year this Monday, June 17, 2019, at 7:00 pm in the Blue Earth Area High School Choir Room. Please enter through Door V on the south side of the building. After introductions, we will begin with show-and-tell, which is always an inspiring part of the meeting! The quilt-along group working on the “4 x 5 Quilt” has met monthly – but new members are always welcome to join the group. The program for the evening will be an open discussion by Linda Bakken and Jan Shaffer, who will talk about what judges look for when evaluating quilts at the county fair. There will also be discussion and signup for the Quilt EXPO in August – there is some reorganization to do. Julie Post will have a sample of one of the fabric games planned for Friday night at the EXPO. Members are reminded to be working on the magazine challenge!

The Blue Earth Valley Quilters meet on the third Monday of each month (no meeting in July or December) under the umbrella of Blue Earth Area Community Education. Each meeting consists of a brief welcome and introductions, a quilt related demonstration, show and tell, a question and answer session and a few minutes to talk with other quilters. Those who are interested may stay after the meeting for the Block-of-the-Month project. The Blue Earth Valley Quilters has been referred to as a guild without all the rules, a quilt discussion group, or a mini-class in quilting – it is open to everyone who enjoys quilts or quilting – quilters of all skill levels are welcome! Announcements and photos can be found on Facebook under the group name Blue Earth Valley Quilters. For more information contact Mike Ellingsen at 507.526.5808.
