157th Faribault County Fair

The 157th Faribault County Fair, a “Giant Gathering Under the Oaks”, will be July 26-29, 2017. Fair week kicks off with open class registration on Monday, July 24 from 4-6 pm. The fair opens Wednesday, July 26. Walk-in season pass price is $5 (ages 6 & under are free) while parking pass for the season is also $5 per car.

Once again the grandstand will host an event every night of the fair.
* Wednesday’s grandstand event starts at 7 pm and will be the “Ag Olympics” hosted by the local 4-H Chapter. This is a free event, so come and watch people stack hay, toss hay, do wheel barrow races and many more fun events.
* Thursday’s grandstand show is “Free Fallin'”, a tribute to Tom Petty. This event begins at 7:30 with ticket price $10.
* Friday features the 52nd Demolition Derby beginning at 7:30 pm. Admission is $15, with children six and under free.
* Saturday, the grandstand will host the BRCA Rodeo beginning at 7 pm. This is a full seven-event professional rodeo show, with admission being $15 per person, six years and under are free. You also have the option of buying VIP tickets. VIP tickets allow you to meet the competitors, get autographs, and even sit by the chutes. Cost for VIP tickets is $50 and there is limited quantity. VIP tickets for this event (as well as tickets for all other events), can be purchased from the Faribault County Fair website. There is no added fee for ordering online!

Other entertainment around the fairgrounds during the week include Freddie Justice and his comedy hypnosis shows, Rad Zoo, the reptile and amphibian discovery zoo, Homeward Bound Theatre,  and “XTreme Ball”, just to name a few. The annual bean bag tournament will be Saturday, rain or shine. “Flea Junktion” will be set up Friday and Saturday. With several vendors bringing antique and vintage items, you’re sure to find yourself a new treasure or two.
